This study aims at investigating the effect of using computer programs on the development of English pronunciation of tenth grade female students in Al-Karak Directorate.
The sample of the study consisted of forty female tenth grade pupils purposefully chosen from Al-Shahabiah secondary school for girls and assigned to experimental and control groups.
Data were collected within a four-week period via a pre-posttest design for equivalent groups.
The findings of the study indicate that there were statistically significant differences (α=0.05) between the achievement of the experimental group and the control group in English pronunciation in favor of the experimental group which was taught via computer programs.
Based on the findings of the study, the researcher suggests the following recommendations:
1. Computer programs should be introduced as a major tool for teaching pronunciation.
2. Further experimentation under different conditions for longer time duration is recommended.
