Ethnobotanical Survey of Wild Medicinal Plants in Selected Sites of Al-Karak Governorate in Jordan

One hundred and nine folk medicinal plants were collected, fixed and investigated during the collecting time which extended from January to October 2015. These plants where collected from 10 selected sites through Al-Karak governorate. Thirty informants were interviewed to test the popularity of these plants as folk medicinal ones. The administration of intake and recording place were being informed. Two to three major therapeutic effects were tested. The tested folk medicinal plants were being showed according to the three main parameters: Fidelity level (FL), Relative popularity level (RPL) and Rank order priority (ROP). The examined medicinal plants identified by at least 1\2 number the informants (15 or more) was considered popular and in this case given score 1, while given less than 1 if mentioned by 3 or more but less than 15 and in this case considered non- popular, while those informed by less than 3 informants were excluded because they were out of the tested criteria. According to ROP values, the medicinal plants examined with ROP values above 50 are categorized into 6 groups, while all plants that have ROP value less than 50 are excluded.
