Abstract
The Impact of Direct Foreign Investments on the Economic Activity in the Republic of Yemen by Using The Time Series

This thesis handles the impact of direct foreign investment on the economic activity in the republic of Yemen by using the time series during the period (1994 – 2009), as one of the desired external funding sources at present time. The thesis aims to measure the direct impact of the foreign investment and its relationship with the commercial openness in the country . The researcher applied the simple and multiple regression models , shed the light on the constraints that encounter the foreign investment despite the advantages and exemptions that laws of investment offer to the foreign investment projects and studied some economic variables affecting the economic activity. The thesis concludes that such impact is weak due to the internal and external turbulent conditions and factors in Yemen which has led to the slow down of investment hence the weakness of such impact.
