Abstract

Constructing a Training Program Based on Creative Thinking and Its Impact on the Ability of Solving Mathematical Problems Among the Second Intermediate Students in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

This study aimed at investigating the impact of a training program based on creative thinking in the ability of the second class intermediate students in Saudi Arabia. To achieve the purpose at the study, a training program for the development of creative thinking skills among students of the second class intermediate students for the unit  "Pro Portionality and Similarity" of the second class intermediate textbook have been constructed, and included the following thinking skills; originality, faience, flexibility. Pre/ Post teats were used. Validity and reliabity of the tests was ensured.

The sample of the study, consisted of (37) students which was divided into two groups; a control group that was not subjected to the program, and the experimental that was subjected to the program.

The results of the study, indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the performance of the two groups (control and experimental) on the post-test in favor of experimental group. Also there was statistical significance difference to results showed that the ability of students by solving creative problems was group (experimental, control) in favor of the experimental group. The results also indicated that the program was effective in survival teaching of learning among students, and help students to retain what they have learnt.

In light of the results of the study, some recommendations were proposed; enriching Maths textbooks by some exercises related to the leavers' daily life, and reducing traditional exercises
