Abstract
The Impact of using Multimedia in Science Achievement and developing Metacognitive skills for
Ninth- Grade Students in the Sultanate of Oman

This study aimed at investigating the effect of using Multimedia in science achievement and developing Metacognitive skills of Ninth grade students in Sultanate of Oman. The sample consisted of (62) students who were enrolled at Al Subaykhy Basic Education school in Batinah North Region.
The sample was of: An experimental group which included (31) students and was taught using Multimedia, and a controlled group which included (31) students and was taught using the conventional method.
To answer the questions' study, an achievement test and Metacognitive skills test were set by the researcher himself. A panel of judges established the validity of both instruments, where as the reliability was calculated using the Pearson correlation coefficient.
The (Pearson) co-efficient of both instruments were found (0.80), (0.82) respectively.
The results of the study revealed that, there is a statically difference at significant level (α ≤0.05) with respect to both the academic test and the Meta cognitive skills in favor of the experimental group. Accordingly, the study recommended coming out to hold training workshops for science teacher and supervisors in using Multimedia techniques in teaching effectively.
