The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Decision Making among the students of the University of Mutah

The current study aimed at identifying the level of emotional intelligence among the students of the university of Mutah, and to recognize of the relationship between emotional intelligence of students and decision making, and to determine the significance of the differences in each of the emotional intelligence of students and decision making, due to the variables of gender, major, and academic level.

The sample of the study consisted of (897) male and female undergraduate students at the university, from different disciplines and years of study, were selected randomly, an emotional intelligence and decision-making scales were applied on them, and their validity and reliability were verified.

The study concluded the following results:

That students of the university of mutah own a moderate degree of emotional intelligence, and there were relationship between the dimensions of Emotional Intelligence together in decision-making among the university students, as interpreted by the dimensions of emotional intelligence combined explained (30.7%) of the variance in the variable decision-making, as shown by there were no differences between each of emotional intelligence and decision-making among the university students due to gender and specialization, and there were a differences in emotional intelligence in favoe to the level of study, and that differences between first-year students on the one hand and students of second year and third on the other hand, in favor of first-year students, and also the there were a differences between students of the year fourth on the one hand and students of second year and third on the other hand and for the fourth-year students. As for the variable decision-making the difference between was between first-year students and students of second year and for first-year students and between students of the second year and fourth year and for the fourth-year students.
