تناولت الدراسة شاعراً من شعراء العصر العباسي: هو شعر أبو الفضل أحمد بن محمد بن الفضل بن الخازن الكاتب، وقد هدفت الدراسة إلى التعريف بأبي الفضل الخازن الكاتب، ونسبه وحياته، وبيان أغراضه الشعرية التي طرقها، ودراسة شعره من الناحية الفنية، وقد انقسمت الدراسة قسمين: اللغة والأسلوب، والصورة الشعرية، وقد اتخذت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي أساساً ترتكز عليه، لكونه مناسباً لهذا النوع من الدراسات؛ حيث قسمت الدراسة إلى مقدمة وثلاثة فصول وخاتمة: جاء الفصل الأول للحديث عن حياة ابن الخازن؛ اسمه ونسبه، ومولده، وشعره.
وتناول الفصل الثاني الأغراض الشعرية عند ابن الخازن، من مدح، ووصف، وهجاء، وفخر، ورثاء، وغيرها.
وجاء الفصل الثالث ليبحث في السمات الفنية لشعر ابن الخازن، من حيث اللغة والأسلوب، والصورة الشعرية.
وقد خرجت الدراسة بأنَّ أبا الفضل أحمد بن محمد بن الفضل الخازن الكاتب شاعر مجيد في شعره، ولكنه لم يحظ بالدراسة الوافية.

The study addressed the poet of poets of the Abbasid era: Is the poetry Abou El Fadel Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Fadel ibn al-Khazen, the Al-kateb, the study aimed to publicize Abu Fadel al-Khazen, the Al-kateb, and the rate and life, and the statement of purpose poetic methods, the study of poetry Technically, the study was divided into two : language and style, and the poetic image. The study was descriptive and analytical approach based primarily be taken, because it is appropriate for this type of study; the study was divided into an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion: the first chapter came to talk about the life of Ibn al-Khazen; his name and lineage, and his birth, and his hair.
The second chapter poetic purposes Ibn al-Khazen, of praise, and description, and satire, and pride, and lament, and others.
The third chapter looks at the technical features of the poetry of Ibn al-Khazen, in terms of language and style, and poetic image.
The study came out that Abu Fadel Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Fadel Al-Khazen Al-kateb poet Majid in his poetry, but he has not received adequate study.
