Abstract
Effect of Family Adaptability and Cohesion, and the Socioeconomic
. Status on the Psychological health Among 10th grade
pupils in the District of Al-Karak

This study aimed at detecting the relationship between the Family Adaptability and Cohesion, the Socioeconomic status and the Psychological Health.
To achieve that aims, the society of the study consisted of all 10th grade male and female pupils at puplic schools in the district of Al-Karak, who were registered in the first semester 2007/2008 , including (922) male and female pupils 20% of the sample was randomly selected from the society by using the startified Random Cluster in accordance with gender, and the cluster sampling in accordance with the section of the study consisted of (488) male pupils and (434) female.
The three scales which were used:
1. The scale of Family adaptability and Cohesion (Olson,1983).
2. psychological Health Scale (Goldberg) which can detect the people who suffer from psychological disturbance.
3. Socioeconomic status scale which determines the level of Socioeconomic satatus.
Pearsons coefficient corrolation, a multiple Regression analysis, and the Stepwise Multiple Regression have been implemented.
The result revealed that there is statistically significant relation between all the independent variables on the dependent variable. Also the
result revealed that the Family Cohesion reported better effect on the independent variable followed by the socioeconomic status. there was no significant relations between the Family Adaptability and the independent variable.
