Abstract

The Impact of a Computerized Instructional Program in Developing Linguistic Vocabularies within Fourth Grade Students at Al-Rosaifeh District.

This study aimed at exploring the effect of a computerized program in developing linguistic vocabularies within fourth grade students at Al-Rosaifeh district.

The study raised the following questions;

Are there any statistical significant differences due to the teaching method; individual instructional computerized program, cooperative instructional computerized program, and the conventional teaching methods in developing the linguistic vocabularies within fourth grade students?

A re there any statistical significant differences in developing linguistic vocabularies within fourth grade students due to gender?

Is there an effect of the interaction between the teaching methods and the gender in developing the linguistic vocabularies of fourth grade students?

The sample of the study consisted of (217) male and female fourth grade students whom they were randomly chosen and divided into their groups; control (conventional way), experimental 1(individual instructional computerized program) and experimental 2 cooperative instructional computerized program). To achieve the purposes of the study, the researcher designed; an instructional computerized program.

The findings of the study showed that;

- Statistical differences in developing linguistic vocabularies of fourth grade students due to teaching methods in favor of the experimental groups; individual instructional computerized program, cooperative instructional computerized program.

- There were no significant differences in developing linguistic vocabularies of fourth grade students due to gender. Meanwhile, there was an interaction between the teaching method and the gender in favor of female students in the cooperative instructional computerized program, while it was in favor of male students in the individual instructional computerized program.

In the light of the findings it recommended that the usage of individual instructional computerized program and cooperative instructional computerized program in teaching Arabic language.
